Inaugural China-Eurasia Concrete Curing Technology Summit Held; White Paper on Materials Technology for Extreme Environments Released

Apr 09 2026

In March 2026, the inaugural China-Eurasia Summit on Concrete Structure Maintenance Technology was held in Qingdao, Shandong. Attended by over 200 industry experts and representatives from building materials enterprises across China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other Eurasian nations, the summit fostered in-depth exchanges focused on high-performance cement-based materials, preventive concrete maintenance, and techniques for addressing structural defects. Furthermore, it established a pivotal platform for transnational collaboration on building materials technology among countries along the Belt and Road.

This summit focused on the complex challenges associated with protecting concrete structures in the extreme environments prevalent across the Eurasian region—specifically, issues arising from freeze-thaw cycles, saline soil corrosion, and accelerated aging caused by high levels of ultraviolet radiation. The event prominently showcased core products independently developed by Chinese enterprises, including silane-based impregnation protection systems, ultra-early-strength rapid repair materials, structural reinforcement adhesives, and self-cleaning anti-corrosion coatings; several of these technologies have attained a leading position on the global stage. During the summit, the organizers officially released the *White Paper on Technologies for the Protection and Repair of Concrete Structures in Extreme Environments across the Eurasian Region*. Concurrently, numerous Chinese building materials enterprises concluded 12 collaborative agreements with research institutions and companies in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, covering both joint technology R&D and market promotion, thereby fostering the mutual recognition of technical standards among these nations in the field of concrete structure maintenance.

The convening of this summit has further advanced the export of China’s high-performance concrete protection technologies to the Eurasian region, thereby facilitating the high-quality construction and long-term safe operation of infrastructure along the Belt and Road.
